Manila suspends rental fees at markets

Rental fees at all public and privatized markets in Manila will be suspended during the lockdown.

The Manila City Council approved the suspension of rental fees after Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso appealed to the council to ease the burden of market vendors.

The resolution was signed on Thursday and was released to the public on Friday.

Several malls in Manila have agreed to waive the rent of their tenants as establishments were temporarily shut down. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
