Bicol village chiefs told to go door-to-door to give quarantine passes

LEGAZPI CITY—The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bicol on Friday (March 20) reminded all village officials to distribute so-called quarantine passes to houses to avoid big crowds.

Anthony Nuyda, DILG regional chief, said in an advisory that some village officials were requiring residents to pick up their passes at village halls, defeating the purpose of enhanced community quarantine and social distancing.

He also said the passes are free. They allow one member of a family to leave the house to buy food and medical supplies.
