MANILA, Philippines — The 52-year-old man, who was found infected with COVID-19 and escaped a hospital in San Juan City, was located Friday in Quezon City, authorities said.
An initial report from the Batasan police showed that barangay officials and police officers located the individual in a house along Neptune Street in Barangay Batasan at 4 p.m.
Police said the man is now placed under strict monitoring while on home quarantine and will be given food and medication.
In a press conference at Kamuning police station, Quezon City Police District director Col. Ronnie Montejo said police officers went to the man’s house in Barangay Tandang Sora on Thursday but residents denied knowing him.
“When the DOH officials and barangay officials went to the patient’s address, residents there said they are not familiar with the patient,” Montejo said in Filipino.
