PH Air Force airlifts COVID-19 test kits to Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Air Force has airlifted test kits of the novel coronavirus disease to Visayas and Mindanao.
The kits were distributed to Tacloban, Cebu, and Iloilo earlier this week, the Office of Civil Defense said Thursday.
There are growing concerns that there are COVID-19 cases in the provinces that are not reported due to the limited test kits. Additional test kits from South Korea and China are expected to arrive on March 21.
Meanwhile, at least 78 sealed laboratory specimens were also flown to Manila from Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Mactan, and Iloilo on Wednesday for COVID-19 tests, said the Philippine Air Force in a separate statement.
Eleven boxes of personal protective equipment were likewise flown to the Department of Health in Lanao.
