LOS BAÑOS, Laguna –– Magdalena town residents in Laguna province can now purchase rice from the town’s rice mill at a reduced price starting Monday, March 23.
Mayor David Aventurado Jr., announced on social media Friday that rice normally sold at P43 per kilo would be sold at P30 per kilo, which means that the local government would shoulder P13 per kilo of rice bought.
The municipal government procured from the town farmers the rice that would be sold at the subsidized price, said Aventurado.
Each family could buy only up to 25 kilos of rice so that everyone would be able to avail themselves of the subsidized price, the mayor added.
