UP offers free tele-psychotherapy for health workers

MANILA, Philippines — Frontline health care workers combating the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)  are already facing a high risk of infection, but the stress and anxiety caused by the crisis may take its toll on their mental health, too.

Hence, the University of the Philippines – Diliman Psychological Services (UPD PsycServ) is offering free tele-psychotherapy services for health care service workers.

Interested healthcare workers may contact 0906-3743466 via text or Viber, the UPD PsycServ said in a Facebook post.

“To all our frontliners, we appreciate you!” it said.

The UPD PsycServ was established as part of the university’s efforts to provide accessible mental health and psychosocial support services to its students, faculty and staff.

Its support specialists are composed of licensed psychologists and/or experienced clinical practitioners completing their graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology.
