COVID-19 in Quezon: 1 confirmed case, 46 PUIs
LUCENA CITY – Quezon province has one confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case but recorded 46 suspected carriers of the coronavirus as of Thursday, local health officials revealed.
“One confirmed case and a total of 46 patients under investigation (PUI) for coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19,” the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Quezon (IPHO) said in a 5 p.m. report Thursday.
According to the IPHO, 25 of the PUIs are now confined in various hospitals.
At least nine PUIs with mild cases are under home quarantine and one was transferred to a place not disclosed.
Ten PUIs recorded earlier have tested negative for the virus.
The report indicates an increase from Wednesday’s figures of only 41 on the number of PUIs.
Article continues after this advertisementThe confirmed case, a 35-year-old male from this city who had a history of travel to Thailand and Singapore remains in “stable condition and asymptomatic.”
The report said the result of the laboratory test done on the possible lone mortality from the coronavirus in the province had yet to be known, so he is still counted as a PUI.
