Legazpi City implements lockdown to prevent COVID-19 spread

LEGAZPI CITY – All borders in this city would be closed as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Mayor Noel Rosal said in an advisory on Thursday that entry of persons into the city through land, sea, air borders and all other possible entry points would be restricted.

On Wednesday, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has also imposed lockdown that prevented the entry of outsiders into the province.

Exempted from the ban were those transporting basic and essential goods such as food, medicines, water, agricultural products, power and telecommunication equipment and supplies, as stated in the provincial executive order no. 9 of Bichara.

Those working in the frontline and mission services with proper identification would also be allowed.

All residents would be required to secure passes from the barangay officials to buy basic needs or medicine. Passes can be used once a day for a maximum of three hours.
