Checkpoints in 2 QC barangays placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) stationed checkpoints in two barangays in the city that were placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine because each community reported three residents diagnosed with the coronavirus disease.

Previously, Quezon City government imposed heightened community quarantine in Barangay Kalusugan and Barangay Tandang Sora.

In a statement, QCPD director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said members of Galas police station would establish checkpoints to monitor and limit the movements of residents in Barangay Kalusugan. A Quick Response Team will also deploy checkpoints in the barangay.

Here are the locations of the checkpoints:

-Fairhope St. corner E. Rodriguez Ave.,

-Umbel Street, and St. Ignacia Street

-Cathedral Height and Rodriguez Avenue cor. Victoria Avenue.

Meanwhile, the top QCPD official said elements of Talipapa police station would place checkpoints in Barangay Tandang Sora.

Here the locations of police checkpoints:

-Neptune corner Jupiter Streets;

-Neptune cor. Mercury Streets; Tandang Sora Ave. in front of Hilda Village;

-Janet St. cor Carol St. as control points.

The police officers and barangay officials would ensure the compliance of residents with strict home quarantine to contain the spread of the infectious respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus, Montejo said.

Quezon City, the largest city in Metro Manila, has 34 cases of COVID-19, according to the Department of Health.
