Several Albay towns, cities allow work-at-home, early salary release

LEGAZPI CITY –– Local governments in Albay province have implemented different work schemes and planned to release salaries in advance to help employees with their daily expenses during the enhanced community quarantine period.

Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal said all the permanent, casual and job order employees would receive their salaries soon.

He also encouraged the national government agencies and private sectors to release salaries of employees early.

He said no-work-no-pay residents would receive relief goods through village officials.

Daraga Mayor Victor Perete also announced in a Facebook post that all employees’ salaries would be released early.

A work-from-home scheme was implemented in Guinobatan town and Tabaco City for their employees, while a skeletal work force remained for health and emergency responders.

The local governments of Sto. Domingo town and Ligao City have also suspended work, except for health workers, relief and emergency response team, public market staff, solid waste management personnel, workers in financial institutions, groceries, and food production.
