LEGAZPI CITY –– The provincial government of Albay would be spending close to P500 million to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara has directed the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Crisis Committee to set up a finance mechanism to effectively deliver services to prevent the spread of the disease and provide needed assistance to caution the health and economic impact in the community.
Cedric Daep, chief of the Albay Public Safety Emergency and Management Office, said the financial plan would be spent to support the operation and response measure, which would include health and social mobilization activities, education and awareness, community mobilization, medical sanitation supplies and equipment for Personal Protective Equipment, food and non-food assistance, and assistance for the economically dislocated labor force and other welfare services.
