MANILA, Philippines — Several fishermen underwent medical screening while traversing the waters of Laguna de Bay on Thursday amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

PCG said its Task Force Laban COVID-19 patrolled Laguna de Bay on Thursday and inspected boats and screened fishermen they met along the way.

The Coast Guard is also checking the situation of fishermen in Navotas City where two members of a cargo crew are considered persons under monitoring (PUM).

Under the enhanced community quarantine, “strict home quarantine shall be implemented in all households; transportation shall be suspended; provision for food and essential services shall be regulated; and heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine procedures will be implemented.”
