MANILA, Philippines — Four more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the nation’s capital city of Manila, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced on Wednesday night.
The latest addition, he said, has brought the number of COVID-19 infected persons in his city to nine as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. The count, he added, included one fatality.
Meanwhile, Moreno said 18 residents of the city are now tagged as persons under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 by the Department of Health.
“As of today, ang bilang po (the number of) PUIs sa siyudad ng Maynila ay (in the city of Manila is already) 18 na po. May pito tayong bagong (There are seven new) PUIs,” he told his constituents in a city address on Wednesday.
To date, the Philippines has 202 people infected with COVID-19, including 17 deaths and seven recoveries.

The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a pandemic since it has already infected more than 170,000 people and killed over 7,000 in over 140 countries all over the world.
