MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire island of Luzon under “enhanced community quarantine” until April 13 in a bid to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that has so far infected over 200 people in the country, 17 of whom have died.
The restriction includes the stoppage of public transportation and the strict imposition of home quarantine with the exemptions of businesses, services, and activities related to the production or provision of food, medicine and health, banking and finance, public utilities and mass media.
On Wednesday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases released a comprehensive list of exemptions from the mandatory home isolation.
