Pasay, Parañaque, Pasig assure all city govt workers of full salaries

MANILA, Philippines — Three Metro Manila city mayors have assured their respective city government workers,  including contractual employees, that they will be getting their full salaries despite a skeleton workforce operation during the enforcement of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

In a statement on Wednesday, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano assured that 3,000 city hall employees will get full salaries and their 13th-month pay.

“Our city hall employees are our frontliners in giving basic services to the people, and during this state of calamity, the salaries would help them tide over this crisis,” Rubiano said.

The Pasay City mayor reminded their employees to submit daily time records to fast-track the release of their salaries.

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto meanwhile declared similar announcements to benefit their respective city government workers.

In a separate statement, Olivarez said employees: permanent, co-term, contractual and job order will continue to receive complete pay, clothing allowance and mid-year bonus or 14th-month pay.

Sotto also assured Pasig City government employees working at the frontlines will receive hazard pay and overtime pay.

“Sa mga empleyado namang nasa frontlines, meron kayong hazard pay, OT, at iba pang benepisyong maaasahan,” Sotto said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

(For our employees who are at the frontlines, you will have hazard pay, overtime pay and other benefits.)

Sotto also reminded other non-frontline city government employees to just stay in their respective homes and observe the strict quarantine.
