Lacson: Let’s be grateful for help coming in even from ‘epals’
MANILA, Philippines — Any help extended during “the worst crisis that ever hit” the Philippines—even from “epals”—should be greeted with gratitude, according to Senator Panfilo Lacson.
“During this time of the worst crisis that ever hit our country, any help offered and given, kahit may kasamang epal, taos-pusong pasalamatan natin alang-alang sa mamamayang Pilipino,” Lacson said in a tweet on Wednesday.
“Epal” is a Filipino slang that refers to people who are fond of grandstanding or doing shameless self-promotion.
(During this time of the worst crisis that ever hit our country, any help offered and given, even if it comes with grandstanding, let us wholeheartedly thank them for the sake of the Filipino people).
“Isigaw at ipagbunyi pa rin natin ng buong lakas at taginting: Mabuhay si Epalloyd!” he added.
