Sara Duterte issues EOs suspending flights to and from Davao City

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — Mayor Sara Duterte issued two executive orders on Tuesday suspending all international and domestic air travel to and from here starting Thursday.

The mayor who chairs the recently-created COVID-19 Task Force in the Davao Region issued Executive Orders No. 12 and 13, Series of 2020, suspending all international and domestic travel at the Davao International Airport here as a measure to stop the spread of the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

Duterte cited in both EOs the need to abide by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution 11 banning unnecessary travel and enforcing more stringent measures to stop the spread of the virus.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday issued Presidential Proclamation No. 922 declaring the country under a state of public health emergency. On Tuesday, March 17, he declared the entire country under a state of calamity.
