Number of cases with COVID-19 symptoms rises by 2 in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY—Two new persons showing COVID-19 symptoms had been admitted to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital for tests, the Department of Health in the region said.

Dr. Ernie Vera, chief of DOH in Bicol, said the two cases of persons under investigation were reported to the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit on Tuesday (March 18).

This brings to three the number of PUI cases in Bicol.

The other PUI in Camarines Sur was still waiting for results of lab tests.

Vera said Bicol remained COVID-19-free as of Tuesday afternoon.

The COVID-19 tracker indicated that as of Monday, there were 18 PUIs already attended to and subsequently discharged after their test results were negative for COVID-19.

There were also 7,313 person under monitoring in the region.
