1 dead as 5 workers going home from cancelled work hit by truck in Bataan

MARIVELES, Bataan-A 20-year-old factory worker here was killed while five others were seriously injured when they were rammed by an a small truck while waiting for a ride.

Initial reports said Jessica Soriano, an employee inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), died on the spot around 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the fatality and several other FAB workers were at the roadside when the truck reportedly lost its brakes and careened toward their direction.

The workers had been waiting for their shuttle during the accident after they were sent home due to canceled work.

Those injured were taken to nearby Maheseco Hospital for treatment.
