Makati gov’t deploys buses for OsMak, city hall employees

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government on Tuesday afternoon started deploying shuttle buses to ferry doctors, nurses, and other employees of the city-run Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) to and from the hospital.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay said the local government wants to ensure continuous operations of the health facility despite the suspension of public transportation in the entire Luzon under the enhanced community quarantine that will end on April 12.

“The mayor said the buses will be coming daily from three points of origin, namely, LRT-Buendia, Puregold Makati and Waterfun-C5, to pick up hospital personnel reporting for duty,” read a statement from the local government unit (LGU).

“Employees going home from work will also be picked up from designated areas near OsMak and dropped off near their homes,” it added.

Meanwhile, health workers of the Makati Health Department in their personal protective equipment have continued to conduct disinfection operations daily in public places in various villages.

The LGU said all frontline workers of the city government in disaster response and management remain on active duty, while other departments and offices have their own skeleton staff who are working from home and on call to respond to any eventuality.
