Coast Guard suspends sea trips in Bicol to contain COVID-19

LEGAZPI CITY –– To help contain the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Philippine Coast Guard in Bicol suspended all trips at any point in the region starting Tuesday.

Commodore Daryl Vargas said in an advisory that cargo vessels carrying food supplies, medicine, water, and other necessities would be allowed to operate in the region.

“However, shipping crew and delivery personnel accompanying these shipments will be subjected to existing health and quarantine protocol,” the Coast Guard Bicol commander said.

As of this writing, there are no COVID-19 in cases in the region./lzb
