LEGAZPI CITY – The city government has suspended all work in local, national and private offices starting Tuesday after the declaration of the enhanced community quarantine in mainland Luzon due to spreading coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mayor Noel Rosal, in an advisory, said employees are encouraged to go on home-based schemes, except for those engaged in frontline and critical services like healthcare, peace and order and emergencies response.
Those engaged in food preparation and delivery may still report for work, along with employees of diagnostic laboratories, clinics, drugstores, pharmacies, banking institutions, money remittances outlets, water refilling stations, grocery stores / supermrkets, courier services and water and power utilities.
The business process outsourcing services would be allowed to operate, provided that employees are given temporary shelters.
All barangay captains were also directed to come up with a scheme on the procurement and distribution of food and basic needs for city residents.
