Pagasa’s Tuesday forecast: Fair weather with cloudy skies, possible rain showers

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and parts of Luzon are expected to have fair weather with possible scattered rain showers due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In an early Tuesday morning weather update, Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the northeast monsoon continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon.

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers to Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa warned of possible flash floods or landslides in the affected areas.

While rains and cloudy skies are expected in the different parts of the country, Pagasa said no major weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next two to three days.

Pagasa, meanwhile, raised gale warnings over Batanes, Cagayan—including Babuyan Group of Islands—,Isabela, Aurora, Camarines provinces, Catanduanes, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur with waves ranging from 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
