In Albay town, siren to remind residents of start, end of curfew hours

LEGAZPI CITY—To keep residents indoors, the local government of Sto. Domingo town, Albay province is imposing a general curfew from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Mayor Joseling Aguas Jr. said violators would be escorted home while nonresidents would be sent to their places of origin.

“This is to encourage everyone to stay at home and avoid social gatherings,” he said.

Siren would sound for 30 seconds every 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. to indicate the start and end of curfew hours.

Aguas also banned the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks during curfew hours. He also cancelled market days on weekends starting on March 21.

The municipal disaster risk reduction and management office would be operating for 24 hours a day until the COVID-19 threat passes.
