Metro workers returning to Eastern Samar unemployed after quarantine offered jobs by LGU
TACLOBAN CITY—Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone is offering employment to workers who lost their jobs as a result of the community quarantine imposed in Metro Manila to stop the spread of COVID-19.
These workers, however, have to undergo 14-day quarantine, he said.
The provincial government is expecting an influx of people coming from Metro Manila to the province amid the COVID-19 threat.
There are currently at least 86 persons being monitored for symptoms of the disease in Eastern Samar, many from areas where there had been cases of COVID-19.
The provincial government is offering food packs to families with members in isolation.
Classes were ordered suspended until March 31 and graduation rites were cancelled.
