Monday forecast: Fine weather with cloudy skies and a chance of rain – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Umbrellas may come in handy for those in Luzon today, March 16, as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) sees cloudy skies with light rain showers in the afternoon.
The state weather bureau said cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers are expected in eastern section of Luzon particularly in Cagayan Valley, Bicol region and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, as well as parts of Oriental Mindoro and Marinduque.
Likewise, slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered light rain showers is seen in Metro Manila and rest of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
Meanwhile, hot weather can be expected in Visayas and Mindanao around noontime but scattered rain showers are also expected in the afternoon.
Pagasa has raised gale warnings over Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon, and Polilio Group of Islands with waves ranging from 2.8 to 4.5 meters
Despite the rain showers expected in different parts of the country, Pagasa said that no major weather disturbance is expected to affect the country in the next three to five days.
