Salalila said the PUMs either came from novel coronavirus-hit countries or came in contact with persons suspected of having the contagious respiratory disease.

The mayor had advised disinfection, social distancing, and good hygiene in the town.

He also ordered the prohibition of all forms of mass gatherings, such as sports events, dance parties, flea markets, bingo socials, beauty pageants, talent competitions, variety shows, and singing contests.
