Quezon suspends classes from March 16-27 due to coronavirus threat

LUCENA CITY — Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez has ordered the suspension of school classes in the province from March 16 to 27 due to the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Janet Geneblazo-Buelo, public information officer, posted the announcement on Facebook: “As preventive measure against (COVID-19), classes in all levels in public and private schools in Quezon are suspended from March 16 to 27.

“Students are highly advised to stay at home during this period,” the announcement added.

The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) reported that as of Saturday: “Quezon remains negative for COVID-19 cases.”
