2 Laguna towns suspend classes after first case of COVID-19 confirmed

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — Two towns in Laguna suspended classes in all levels private and public, following suspensions last week of other municipalities due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread.

Hours after the first case of COVID-19 in the province was confirmed in Santa Rosa City, classes in Siniloan were declared suspended starting March 16 to 20, the municipal government said on a social media post Sunday morning.

Locals were advised to disinfect their homes during the class suspensions.

The town government of Pila also announced Saturday night on social media class suspensions from March 16 to 20 and advised parents to keep their children at home and to avoid going to crowded places.

The city government of Biñan issued a public advisory Saturday night to inform the public that the Biñan Fitness Center, Biñan Football Field, and Biñan Multi-Purpose Hall (Biñan Plaza Covered Court) will be closed indefinitely starting March 15.

No province-wide class suspension was announced yet as of this writing.
