MANILA, Philippines — The number of Filipinos diagnosed with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Singapore rose to nine after health authorities there reported two more cases.
A 30-year-old Filipina, classified by Singapore’s Ministry of Health as Case 205, visited the Philippines from February 27 to March 6.
Singapore said Case 205 is an “imported case,” meaning she contracted COVID-19 outside the city-state.
She was confirmed to have COVID-19 on Saturday and is currently warded in an isolation room at Singapore’s National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old Filipina, classified as Case 211, was also confirmed COVID-19 positive on Saturday.
She was linked to an earlier confirmed COVID-19 case in Singapore.
The Filipina is also confined in the NCID.
Two of the nine Filipinos who tested positive of COVID-19 in Singapore have already recovered.
The city-state has reported 212 coronavirus cases as of Saturday.
The Philippines, meanwhile, has had 111 COVID-19 cases, of which eight have died, two recovered, and 101 remains admitted.
