Las Piñas gov’t places entire city under state of calamity

MANILA, Philippines — The Las Piñas City government has declared a state of calamity as the country continues to address the increasing cases of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This was announced in an advisory on Saturday posted on the City of Las Piñas Facebook page, which is the city’s official social media page.

The city currently has one patient who tested positive for the disease on March 11. The patient is a 53-year-old Filipino male from Las Piñas City and is currently at the Las Piñas General Hospital for treatment.

The city government also announced that a curfew will be imposed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting March 16 until April 14.
