Catanduanes to ban entry of tourists, persons with COVID-19 symptoms

LEGAZPI CITY –– The island province of Catanduanes will not allow entry of visitors, tourists and persons who manifest symptoms of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) starting Sunday.

Acting governor Shirley Abundo, in an executive order, said any resident, who manifests symptoms of COVID-19 should immediately go to the nearest facility for treatment outside the province.

Exempted are persons working in the province, those attending official travel with certification from government physician as COVID-19-free, and anyone who will transport laboratory specimens.

All the qualified persons to enter the province will be directed for a mandatory self-quarantine at home for 14 days.

They should report to the barangay health emergency team through phone calls or text message until completion of the quarantine period.

Mass gatherings, including cockfighting, will also be halted.

Meanwhile, the trade of goods and services will continue to ensure enough supply of essential commodities especially the food items./lzb
