BANSALAN, Davao del Sur–A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck off Columbio, Sultan Kudarat at 2:37 a.m. Saturday.
The tremor was also felt in Davao del Sur and in nearby areas, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tectonic quake struck four kilometers southeast of Columbio town at a depth of10 kilometers.
It was elt Intensity 4 in Kidapawan City, Makilala and M’lang in Cotabato, Intensity 3 in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat and Magpet, Cotabato, and Intensity 2 in Matalam, Cotabato.
Instrumental intensities was also felt as Intensity IV in Kidapawan City; Intensity 3 in Malungon, Intensity 2 in Koronadal and Intensity 1 in Tupi, South Cotabato.
At 2:53 a.m., a mild 2.2 magnitude quake also hit some 12 kilometers southwest of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, with a depth of focus of 22 kilometers.
Phivolcs said there are no expected aftershocks and damage to properties.
