Athletes’ Village ‘thoroughly disinfected’ after use, says BCDA exec

CAPAS, TARLAC –– The government-designated quarantine site in New Clark City (NCC) here underwent cleaning and sanitation immediately after the send-off ceremony for the quarantined 442 repatriates from MV Diamond Princess, according to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Wearing full protective gears, personnel from the Central Luzon Center for Health Development of the Department of Health disinfected and sanitized all the rooms used by the repatriates at the Athletes’ Village in NCC.

The rooms used by the repatriates who tested positive for coronavirus, were also thoroughly disinfected as shown in a video shared by the BCDA.

“We would like to assure everyone, especially those residing in the adjacent communities of (NCC), that the Athletes’ Village has been thoroughly sanitized by the DOH,” said BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon.

He added: “NCC will remain on lockdown in accordance with the government’s directive to the public to refrain from visiting public places.”/lzb
