Naga recommends cancellation of events with 200 or more participants
LEGAZPI CITY –– The city government of Naga recommended through a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) advisory that “large events” to be conducted in the city be canceled to prevent the spread of the disease that has killed two in the country.
“Effective [Wednesday], a gathering in any venue that attracts 200 people or more shall be considered a large event,” according to the advisory from the office of the mayor.
However, the mayor’s office laid down actions to be undertaken for organizers deciding to push through with the events.
These are that participants must be informed of the risks and measures; practice of social distancing; no self-service in buffets and no sharing of food and drinks; provision of hand sanitizers in prominent locations; no entry for ill people or those with high-risk medical conditions; and submission of list of attendees with their addresses and contact information to the city health office.
Following the advisory, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources canceled an event, which they said would gather 550 participants in a hotel in Naga City.
