P61.2-M shabu seized in QC bust

MANILA, Philippines — About 9 kilos of crystal meth or “shabu” worth P61.2 million in the streets was seized from a suspected drug pusher in a Quezon City bust on Wednesday.

Police nabbed Mark Anthony Gregorio Carlos during the bust at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday in a fast food restaurant along Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

Seized from Carlos were 15 packs of shabu worth P61.2 million and the marked cash used in the bust.

The seized items were sent to the Philippine National Police’s Crime Laboratory Office for technical examination.

Carlos meanwhile is facing charges for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 (selling and possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
