Four inmates at the Mabalacat City police jail in Pampanga province escaped at dawn on Tuesday (March 10), police said.
They were identified as Teejay Castro, Abelardo Miclat, Alberto Laxamana and Alfie Dela Cruz.
The jail warden was helping the desk officer in attending to a walk-in complainant when he heard screaming inside the detention facility past 2 a.m.
This prompted the warden to check and discover that four of the detainees escaped.
Investigation showed that the escapees used a metal saw to cut their cell’s steel bars.
Police have launched a manhunt operation to recapture the escapees who are facing charges of illegal gun possession, drugs and child abuse.
