CEBU CITY –– A lady councilor in Ginatilan town, southwest Cebu was gunned down by still unidentified assailants outside the municipal building on Wednesday.
At past 1 p.m., Ginatilan Councilor Maria Liza Toledo was seen going out of the municipal building after attending the weekly session.
As she walked towards her car, the perpetrators shot the councilor several times.
Toledo was brought to the MJ Cuenco Memorial Hospital in Malabuyoc town but she eventually died at past 2 p.m.
Colonel Roderick Mariano, director of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, said their investigators had yet to identify the motive behind the killing and the identities of the perpetrators.
