CEBU CITY –– Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo on Wednesday ordered his constituents to avoid crowded places and continue to practice self-protection measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“Due to our firm concern about the COVID-19, we should remain on the fence and as much as possible urge our people to avoid attending events and gatherings,” he said in his executive order.

Degamo also highly recommended the cancellation of planned big events or mass gatherings until further advice.

“For small events requiring convergence of 200 to 100 people, those individuals who show symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and other respiratory infection are not allowed to attend such,” he said.
