31 of 33 coronavirus cases in PH are mild to moderate – DOH

MANILA, Philippines – Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Wednesday said 31 of the confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country are deemed “mild to moderate” while the remaining two are “critical.”

During the House of Representatives Committee on Health’s meeting on COVID-19 status and response, Duque said there are 33 confirmed cases of the virus in the country as of Wednesday morning.

Further, Duque said there are 95 Filipinos abroad who were also confirmed to have been infected by the virus.

80 of the infected Filipinos are in Japan, six are in the United States, four are in Hong Kong, three are in Singapore, and two are in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Likewise, there are six confirmed cases of foreign nationals with COVID-19 having a history of travel in Philippines.

This includes two Japanese nationals, one Taiwanese national, one Australian national, one Singaporean national, and one South Korean national.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier signed a proclamation declaring a state of public health emergency in the country due to the threat posed by COVID-19.
