MANILA, Philippines — Hot and humid weather is expected in Metro Manila and many parts of the country on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said that Metro Manila’s temperature could range from 26 to 34 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
“‘Yun pong nalalabing bahagi ng bansa kasama ang Metro Manila ay patuloy na makakaranas ng mainit at maalinsangan na panahon lalo na sa tanghali at sa hapon,” he said in Pagasa’s weather bulletin video.
(The rest of the country, including Metro Manila will experience hot and humid weather especially at noon and in the afternoon.)
Isolated rains, however, brought about by localized thunderstorms could still occur, he added.
Northern Luzon will experience slightly colder weather compared to the past few days due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
Cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos region and Cagayan Valley due to the northeast monsoon, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front will affect the eastern section of northern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over provinces Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, and Quezon.
Aurelio said that the weather bureau has not monitored any weather disturbance inside or outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Gale warnings have been raised over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Calayan, Ilocos Norte and the northernmost portion of Cagayan.
This means strong and high waves reaching up to 4.5 meters are possible.
“Huwag munang pumalaot dahil delikado,” Aurelio warned seafarers in the said areas, adding that they should wait for the updates on weather and sea conditions.
Below are the range of temperatures in several areas, according to Pagasa:
