LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – Travel suspensions were enforced on students and employees of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in Laguna province as a preventive measure against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

As of Tuesday (March 10), there were no class suspensions yet and Laguna remained free of COVID-19, but university constituents were advised to “stay where they are,” said Dr. Jessie Imelda Foronda-Walde of the UPLB University Health Service.

Mass gatherings on campus were also cancelled, said Walde, who further qualified them as congregations of “more than 10 people.”

Walde said a social distance of more than one meter should be maintained as much as possible.

An official memo on these protocols would be released by UPLB chancellor Fernando Sanchez Jr. on Tuesday evening, said Walde.
