Honeylet wants Duterte to avoid ‘big crowds’ for now due to COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The partner of President Rodrigo Duterte, Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, wants the Chief Executive to avoid “big crowds” for the meantime as coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in the country rose to 20.

“An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. So avoid big crowds muna,” Avanceña, a former nurse, told reporters Monday when asked of her reminder to the President.

Avanceña likewise noted that it was easy to give Duterte his vitamins.

Earlier, the Presidential Security Group announced it will enforce a “no-touch” policy to Duterte to ensure his safety from the coronavirus.

However, Duterte’s former longtime aide and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said that the 74-year-old President is likely to defy the presidential guards’ new policy.

The Department of Health has so far reported 20 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
