MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Mayor Abby Binay on Monday assured that an isolation area has been established by the local government unit and that response teams were placed on alert after the Department of Health (DOH) said one of the 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases was admitted to the Makati Medical Center.

“The city’s COVID-19 protocols are in place. Should the need arise, we have established an isolation area and placed on alert all response teams,” she said in a statement.

“The city government decided to be proactive to protect our residents and visitors from the virus,” she added.

She said they did not show symptoms of the disease but have been instructed to undergo home quarantine while MHD continues to monitor their medical conditions.

“The Taiwanese national who tested positive was previously confined at a private facility. He has since been transferred to the RITM. The management of the private facility has already compiled a list of all personnel who attended to the patient and had already sent this list to the Epidemiological Bureau,” said Binay.
