BGC temporarily cancels Sunday activities over coronavirus threat

MANILA, Philippines — After the fourth coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case was confirmed to be that of an employee of a Taguig-based multinational finance firm, the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) on Saturday announced that it will be temporarily canceling its two Sunday activities.

In a statement released on its Facebook page, the BGC said it will cancel the My Sunday Dog Park at the De Jesus Oval and My Sunday Bike Lanes on 31st St.

“in light of the recent reported case in Taguig City, we would like to take precautionary actions to prevent the community spread of COVID-19,” BGC said.

“The health and safety of our BGCitizens are our top priority. We advise everyone to do self-protection measures and avoid crowded areas for now,” the statement further read.

This comes after Deloitte Philippines based in the BGC confirmed that one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Health later revealed that the employee is a 48-year-old man, who is the fourth case of the virus reported in the country.
