#WalangPasok: Navotas City suspends Monday classes due to coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Navotas City has announced the suspension of classes from kindergarten to college levels on Monday, March 9, amid the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

So far, the Philippines has five confirmed cases of the deadly disease.

“#walangpasok sa Lunes March 9,2020 sa lahat ng antas magmula kindergarten hangang college, sa lahat ng paaralan sa #navotas both public and private,” Navotas City mayor Toby Tiangco announced on his Facebook page on Saturday.

“At ako ay nakikiusap sa #deped na automatic passing para sa lahat ng estudyante for this school year dahil sa #COVIDー19,” he added.

(And I’m also asking the Department of Education [DepEd] for the automatic passing of all the students for this school year because of the COVID-19.)
