TUGUEGARAO CITY – Three men were arrested on Friday (Mar. 6) for transporting illegally-cut lumber measuring 700-board-feet at a checkpoint in the Cagayan town of Peñablanca.
Jomar Soriano, a 20-year-old van driver, and his passengers Raven Taccad, 18, and Mardie Maltu, 20, were intercepted at 11:35 p.m. along Barangay (village) Dodan, said Captain Rey Lopez, Peñablanca police chief.
Soriano’s green van was loaded with red lauan lumber, but the driver could not present a transport permit from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Villamor Visaya Jr. INQ
