MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) will be providing a treat to female passengers as they will get free rides on Sunday (March 8) as a celebration of the International Women’s Day, the train’s management said Friday.
“FREE RIDE for beautiful souls boarding the LRT-2 trains on Sunday, March 8, 2020, during the peak hours indicated below. Happy International Women’s Day!” read the statement from Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), which manages the train line.

The LRTA said free train rides will run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
International Women’s Day (IWD), which is commemorated annually, aims at championing the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, according to the IWD website.
