MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday hailed the “excellent” satisfaction rating of the Duterte administration as a result of the government’s transparency and the President’s desire to give Filipinos a comfortable life.
Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed an increase in the net satisfaction of the Duterte administration by six points from +67 in September 2019 to +73, which is classified as “excellent.”
“Excellent. That’s my reaction. Which is consistent with how the people receive the President and the administration,” Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in an interview with reporters.
“He’s been very transparent, he’s very decisive, he has only one thought in mind—provide a comfortable life for every citizen of this country and create an atmosphere of peace and progress for this country, regardless of the criticisms, the hurt coming from them,” he added.
Despite the high rating, Panelo assured this would not cause the Duterte administration to be complacent.
The ratings would instead “serve as an inspiration for us to take another extra mile in rendering genuine service for our people and be a source of courage for our dedicated public servants in fighting the challenges that our country is facing today,” Panelo said in a separate statement.
