MANILA, Philippines — Train marshalls have been positioned inside the trains of Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) to ensure the safety of passengers, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Thursday.
In a Facebook post, DOTr said they started deploying 30 train marshalls on March 1 (Sunday).
Aside from being first responders for emergencies in MRT-3 trains, the train marshalls are tasked to remind passengers to follow safety guidelines and assist persons with disabilities, senior citizens and pregnant women.
Train marshalls are seen wearing duty pass while guarding the trains.
The management of DOTr also said they will be deploying one train marshall for each train set in North Avenue Station and Taft Avenue Station.
